Cindy

Cinter

Hi. I am Cindy, was born April 1956, and now live in Arizona. I have 2 sons, one is 22; he is in the Air Force. The other son is 21 and is married with a wonderful daughter, and is an 911 EMT. I have been coming to the channel for 3 1/2 years or so now. I do not have cancer so far as I know at this time. I have lost many loved once to cancer, 3 aunts, 1 cousin, 2 uncles, and 2 grandparents. I also helped take care of my mom as she died with cancer at home, something no one should have to witness. I also have an Uncle with cancer now and a chance my father does as well. That as well as friends with cancer is what brought me to this channel for support. I can understand what many here are going through. No, I don't have cancer yet the effects of it has attacked me. I also understand much of what it is like to be ill, to be tested and tested, and tested again. I know what it feels like to wait for results. Again no, I don't have cancer. I have had a long life medically. I guess it would take many hours as many to tell the entire story. Sooooo, I will list my main illnesses I have dealt with...

Lupus, Arthritis, Asthma, Diabetes, migraine's, Fibromyalgis, SJ, and Sleep apnea. I use a cpap and oxygen mostly at night. Oh ya, I am also diagnosed with manic depressed, hmmm bi polar, suicidal depressed, they have to include them, everyone with terminal medical is, they tell me, hehehe glad they know. Well, that lists the illnesses I have learn to deal with for many years. Hmmm did I tell you I am disabled? None of those have been as hard to fight as the year, 1997 to 1999. Sept 20,1997 I had a hemorrhage in my brain. They operated and removed areas in my brain to replace it. Then Oct. 4th a staph infection set in my brain and spread to the bone flaps. They did brain surgery again and also removed the bone flaps because the infection spread. So for 6 months I had a hole in my head till they could do more. Oct. 18th, my brain swelled so back to surgery again, they then put a shunt in, to help my brain drain. Nov 2nd, the shunt clogged and they had to operate again to replace it. March 26th they was able to operate and replace the bone flap with a plastic plate. (They thought 1st of using my rib) April 13th, again my head swelled and they operate again to release the swelling. During all this I started having gmal seizures as well as 2 other type seizures, and nerve damage to my right arm. I had to relearn to talk, walk, read etc... I am still learning. I can't drive any more. I am learning an entire new type of life. At the present I take, Dylantin, Klonopin, Neurontin, synthroid, Depakote, Pepcid, Amitriptyline, Insulin's N & R, MS Contin and MSIR. They add and subtract my meds all the time, like everyone else. My seisures had gotten better for awhile but now I have started having more and also my MRI shows another area of my brain may be tring to bleed. I will be seeing a brain surgeon again in the near future.

Well, that is some of my past years 1997 to 1999. Again, no more than anyone else in our channel, and less for many. I love everyone, and if any part about me can help anyone else, then I guess I too still have a reason to fight. Some days I don't think I can, then other days I know I have to. Hugs to everyone because we all need an understanding friend, and this channel has many. I would like to end this long story with a very special THANKS to you all, but mostly to my family and to Ebenezer and Cookie. TIGHT HUGS, I care!!

Several things were updated on my bio, however I can't remove the special thanks to Eb and Cookie but will add, Thanks for the continuing support Eb and I miss you Cookie Oh so very much, as I miss all the channel Angels! I thank all of you again for being so special.
